Show Day Report
26th July 2020
Bucklow Trafford Riding Club held its second show of the season on the 26th July 2020, this show was rescheduled from June and the committee felt confident to continue with this after holding our first show 2 weeks earlier and managing to implement Coronavirus government guidelines to abide by and whilst it was all still at the fore front of our minds, we felt good to go again.
Steven Sharples kindly judged Ring 1 after the morning classes he awarded the Championship to: “In the Fashion” ridden by Siena Evans and Reserve Champion went to “Finn” ridden by Anne Crier. We held a second Championship in this ring for the afternoon classes and this was awarded to
“Erw Wasted British Lion” ridden by Sophie Rogers and Reserve Champion was “Duke XI” ridden by Christina Hesketh.
The mini ring was busy especially with lots of first ridden riders, and the judge Karen Green had some tough decisions to make in the Mini Championship, but found her Champion in the lead rein “Maybrock Prince Charming” ridden by Zara Hayler and Reserve Champion went to “Colne Troika” shown by Carter Wigglesworth. In the afternoon Karen Green judged style & performance, & equitation classes that went forward to a Championship which was awarded to “Erw Wasted British Lion” ridden by Sophie Rogers and “Taincwm Victor” ridden by Vicky Weir took Reserve commenting both were lovely riders and well mannered ponies.
The working hunter ring had a lovely inviting course designed by one of our junior members Maisy. Victoria Prescott judged these classes and it was lovely to see good entries in our new class this year the lead-rein whp. In the Championship Victoria found her Champion in “Murthwaite See You In A Bit” ridden by Ella Millard commenting he was a perfect M & M worker type and Reserve Champion was “Comberton Conte Marlo” ridden by Ellie Dean who was a lovely athletic, free moving, young horse.
The in-hand ring was very popular with good entries in all classes, Alan French kindly judged these classes. The Championship in the morning went to “Taincwm Victor” shown by Vicky Weir and Reserve Champion was “Dolrehdyn Cardinal” shown by Bodie Wellens. The afternoon classes went forward to their Championship and “Doylan Top Gun” shown by Sophie Rogers was honoured this award with Reserve Champion going to “Flosses Coloured Clover” shown by Peter Hough.
A big thank you to all the judges, stewards and sponsors who all helped to make our second show of 2020 a success. Fingers crossed we look forward to our final show of the season on Sunday 13th September 2020, as long as government guidelines continue to allow us to.
